Bobby Long: Giving his love to music

His songs are like tapestry of words woven smoothly in the sound that he creates. His melody reflects a genre of the past that seeking its way into a world that music is mixed with the hammers of technology. Such rawness and honesty is hard to find nowadays with young musicians in order to create attention and to generate audience. But this is not the case for this young musician. 2008 was a good sign that the call to bring out his music to the world has finally arrived. Bobby kept it real through his songs and thus won the hearts of many who have heard him sing. His composition is undoubtedly a wonder, at 23; he surprised many by his ability to tell a story in his songs would make anyone think they are reading a chapter of a book. They are not thoughtless mind of a young budding musician. The lyrics he created are deep and reflective not of a 23 year old guy but a man much older than his age; Witnesses of this talented man coined him an “old soul”. In a way it truly does shows in his songs. Like his predecessors who already placed a mark on the music history that he has embraced with heart, traveling was the key most important thing for Bobby to bring out his music to the world. Carving his own name in the very “oak” of each hearts of his fans awaiting for his arrival in every states, cities, venues he chose to play his music. He is what you now call a “modern day traveling troubadour”, resurrecting a genre of music that might not be included in the ipods or mp3’s of young people nowadays; and following the footsteps of his musical heroes that he admires like Dylan, Teagarden, Elliot Smith or Gutrie and many others immersing himself in the essence in their inspiration became a well-known pattern of his musical journey which he now undertakes. His last pit stop was in New York City at the Mercury Lounge for his Dangerous Summer Tour. Braving the blazing snow, fans continued to line up to catch a glimpse of this traveling troubadour for the last time. And they were not disappointed, for those who came to see and hear him play; Bobby surprised them with a new song which he called “Happy Winter/ Winter Tale”, a memorable ending for Bobby Long for 2009 and a wonderful holiday gift for his fans to remember him by. The holidays might have done wonders again for Bobby and surprised his fans not just one but two new songs.
